Hey, I'm Kristin

This all started with a camera, and a feeling that life should look as good as it feels.

Long before Ackerman & Co. existed, I was simply a girl who loved documenting life.

Some of my earliest memories involve cameras, scrapbooks, and journals.

My dad was an avid hobby photographer who loved capturing landscapes and nature, and he almost always had a camera in his hands. Watching him notice beauty in everyday moments taught me to do the same.

As I grew up, that love for documenting only deepened. I filled scrapbooks, wrote in journals, and even turned my living room into my own little “TV studio” in middle school — filming shows with my closest friends and creating videos just for the joy of capturing memories.

When my dad passed away in 2002, when I was just 16 years old, documenting life took on an entirely new meaning for me. The photos, videos, and memories we had became priceless. They were more than just images — they were pieces of a story, pieces of a life.

That experience shaped the way I see my work today.

At Ackerman & Co., I believe wedding films are more than highlight videos. They are living memories — a way to hold onto the people, emotions, and fleeting moments that make a day unforgettable.

My approach is deeply documentary. I quietly observe, anticipate moments, and preserve the genuine interactions that often happen in between the big events. The laughter between friends, a parent’s expression during a speech, the small glances couples share when they think no one is looking.

Because someday, these moments will matter even more than they do today.

It’s my greatest honor to capture stories that families will return to for decades — not just to remember a wedding day, but to remember the people they love.
